With India kickstarting Day 1 of the Paris Olympics 2024 with some disappointing performances, especially in shooting, before Manu Bhaker earned qualification in the women’s 10m air pistol final on Saturday, July 27, India’s star tennis player, Rohan Bopanna was also handed a jolt ahead of his men’s doubles clash in tennis.
Bopanna, who is set to pair with Sriram Balaji in what is his last Olympics appearance, will now face the pair of veteran Gael Monfils and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. This comes after Edouard Roger’s pair, Fabien Reboul pulled out of the event. It is to be noted that Bopanna and Monfils played doubles together for Indian Aces at the IPTL.
Bopanna-Balaji match postponed due to rain
Rohan Bopanna, who will become the oldest Indian athlete to participate at the Paris Olympics 2024, has been in form of his life of late. The 44-year-old, who will partner with Sriram Balaji, saw their match get delayed due to rain in the French capital city of Paris.
