The 29-year-old took home the Silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Mirabai Chanu started the Women’s 49kg event with a successful 85 kg lift in her first attempt at the Snatch. But unfortunately for the 29-year-old, she couldn't complete her second lift of 88 kg. Then with her third attempt, Chanu successfully lifted 88 kg and completed the Snatch category on a positive note.
In the Clean and Jerk, Mirabai Chanu started with an attempt of 111 kg but missed it after a great snatch. The second attempt saw the 29-year-old once again go for the 111 kg limit and complete it successfully to go third in the overall rankings. But as she missed her third attempt, Chanu finished fourth and missed the medal for India.
The reigning Commonwealth Games champion qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
