Shardul Thakur, the fast bowling all-rounder from India, known for playing enterprising innings with the bat from time to time, was recently released by Kolkata Knight Riders into the IPL 2024 auction pool after a forgettable last season. Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lankan leg spin bowler, who had an injury-prone season of the IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2023, found his name on the released players list.

His teammate Harshal Patel, the Indian fast bowler, conceded runs at nearly 10 per over in IPL 2023, which led the RCB to release him from the team. The three-time finalists decided to go through with a massive clearout of bowlers, which included the likes of Josh Hazlewood, David Willey, Wayne Parnell, and Siddharth Kaul.

LSG to go after Lockie Ferguson in IPL 2024 auction

According to SportsTiger sources, Lucknow Super Giants will be looking to go after Lockie Ferguson in the IPL 2024 auction to bolster their fast bowling department further. LSG already have retained the services of overseas fast bowlers like Mark Wood and Naveen-ul-Haq, so the addition of Lockie Ferguson into the squad could prove to be a feather in the cap of the team management.

Notably, Lockie Ferguson was released by the Kolkata Knight Riders after he played just three matches for the team in the IPL 2023, picking up no wickets in the process.
