Since making his debut on Instagram, ‘El Wey’ as he is popularly called, he has gained more than one million followers.
Ronnie's popularity stems from his involvement in City's treble celebrations this season. The four-year-old was seen on the pitch with his father and other players after they won the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League. He also earned the nickname 'El Wey' - or 'The Dude' - among City fans for his cheeky personality and charisma. El Wey was seen on his father’s back celebrating with fans and dancing around in the locker room after the Champions League final win.
Ronnie's first post on Instagram was a photo of him and Phil walking down the tunnel at Istanbul after City's 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final. The caption read: "El wey has arrived" with a goat emoji (signifying 'Greatest Of All Time') and it has received over 1.2 million likes and almost 27,000 comments so far.
Ronnie's Instagram fame has attracted the attention of many celebrities and footballers, who have followed him or commented on his posts. Some of them include City player, Rico Lewis, BBC presenter Natalie Pike and popular Instagram accounts like Transfermarkt and Rising Ballers.
Phil Foden has not commented on his son's Instagram success yet, but he must be proud of his mini version. The 23-year-old midfielder has had an incredible season with City, scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions.
