English broadcaster Piers Morgan slammed Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after he walked out of his press conference. Tag refused to comment on the possibility that Manchester United could record their worst-ever finish in the Premier League, and walked out of the post-match press conference. Morgan’s side failed to beat Bournemouth in their last match and finished with a 2-2 draw.
With this, they are now 10 points behind Aston Villa who are on the fourth spot. In the post-match conference, when a reporter pointed out if United could record their lowest finish in Premier League history year, Ten Hag refused to comment. He said, “I don’t have to comment as it’s now relevant now,” and walked out of the press.
Following this, English broadcaster Piers Morgan took to social media and slammed the United manager and pointed out how he drove Cristiano Ronaldo out of the team after the 2022 World Cup. Morgan tweeted, “I wonder if he’s still ‘sleeping well’ about the way he drove @Cristiano out of the club, given everything Ronaldo said about him & the way United is now run has proven to be correct…”
Piers Morgan's criticism of ETH came after the Manchester United coach claimed that he slept well after Cristiano Ronaldo's exit in 2023. Ten Hag said, " I had my reasons. They were obvious, and I also knew the consequences. It could have had a negative outcome. That is always possible in football. But I am not worrying. I sleep well also, even during those nights.”
Notably, United have only managed to win one of their past seven league games and their four-game winless run is their joint-longest of the campaign. Since the inception of the Premier League in the 1992-93 season, United finished outside the top four only on four only in five seasons while their worst finish remains that during David Moyes' tenure in the 2013-14 campaign, when they finished seventh.
