Anmolpreet Singh, a right-handed Punjab batter, smashes the 35-ball century, becoming the fastest Indian to score a List A ton, breaking the record of former India power hitter Yusuf Pathan, who scored a ton in 42 balls back in 2010 against Maharashtra. With this, the 26-year-old became the overall third fastest player in the world to reach this feat after Jake Fraser-McGurk and AB de Villiers.

In the 9th match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, Arunachal Pradesh vs Punjab, Anmolpreet Singh scored 115* runs on just 45 balls chasing the target of 165. The Punjab batter hits a century on just 35 balls. In this record-breaking inning, Anmolpreet hits 9 sixes and 12 fours. Eventually, Punjab won the match by 9 wickets (with 223 balls remaining).

He has registered his name as the third fastest player (by least balls taken) to score a century in List A cricket. Australian young top-order batter Jake Fraser McGurk is in the top spot with a 29-ball century against Tasmania in October 2023, followed by South African cricket legend Ab de Villiers in second spot with a 31-ball hundred against the West Indies in 2025.

Anmolpreet Singh went unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Shockingly, the batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 24th-25th November 2024. With this performance, he demonstrated his batting ability to the IPL team selectors.

However, he played 9 IPL games for prominent franchises, including Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the nine matches, Anmolpreet scored 139 runs with an average of 15.44 and a strike rate of 120.86. In IPL 2024 he just scored 5 runs in 2 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Now with this performance, he definitely opens opportunities for himself once again. However, he needs to be consistent to make this season big. Punjab kicked off the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25 with a solid win.
