During the second day's play in the second Test between Pakistan and England in Multan, Ben Duckett brought up his fourth hundred in Test cricket as the visitors started their first innings in an emphatic manner. Although, in the closing stages of play on day two, Pakistan bowlers picked up a flurry of wickets, to reduce England to 239/6, still trailing by 127 runs at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Earlier, with the help of  Kamran Ghulam 's hundred and Saim Ayub’s 77-run knock, Pakistan were bowled out for 366 runs in their first innings. Mohammad Rizwan scored crucial 41(97) , along with crucial 30s by Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, and Noman Ali.  Jack Leach took four wickets by conceding 114 runs in 38.3 overs. Apart from that, Brydon Carse took 3 wickets, while Matthew Potts and Shoaib Bashir dismissed opposition batters as well. 

Coming to bat in the first innings for England, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett put up an opening partnership of 73 runs for the first wicket in 12.1 overs. Crawley got out after scoring 27 runs off 36 balls with three boundaries. After that, Duckett took charge of the innings for the visitors.

After the fall of the first wicket, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope added 52 runs for the second wicket. Pope got out after scoring 29(37) runs. Duckett added another 86 runs with Joe Root (34 off 54). The left-handed batter got out after scoring 114 runs off 129 balls, hitting 16 boundaries in his enterprising innings. However, after Duckett’s dismissal, England went on to lose quick wickets as Harry Brook and skipper Ben Stoke got out cheaply.
