With wickets falling from the other end at regular intervals, Mooney kept scoring runs as Perth Scorchers posted 142/8 in their 20 overs. The left-hander scored 77 runs off 52 balls hitting nine boundaries. For Brisbane Heat Women, Nicola Hancock took three wickets.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Perth Scorchers Women got a good start as the skipper Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney added 40 runs before the loss of first wicket at the end of the powerplay. Devine got out after scoring 25 runs off 22 balls. After that, Perth Scorchers kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Mooney scoring from the other end.
