New Zealand dominated India on day two of the ongoing first Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After bowling India out for just 46 runs, New Zealand finished day two on 180/3, with a lead of 134 runs so far in the first innings. For the visitors, Devon Conway shone with an enterprising knock of 91 runs from 105 balls with 11 fours and five sixes. New Zealand will be looking to get a big lead on day 3, and take an another step towards registering their first Test win in India after 36 years.
After Indian captain Rohit Sharma opted to bat first, India were bowled out for just 46 runs in the first innings. After that, Devon Conway and skipper Tom Latham surpassed India’s total without losing any wicket as they put together an opening partnership of 67 runs. Latham got out after scoring 15(49) runs. After that Conway took the innings forward, and went on to score his ninth Test fifty for New Zealand. However, he fell short by just nine runs in his pursuit towards the fifth Test hundred.

After no play on day one due to rain and wet outfield, the first Test between India and New Zealand finally began on day two. However, India didn’t have a great start as the hosts registered their third lowest Test total, and the lowest ever total in India. Fast bowler Matt Henry shone with his 5-wicket haul on day 2 as New Zealand were all over the hosts in the first Test in Bengaluru. Henry registered figures of 5/15 in his spell of 13.2 overs. On the other hand, Will O’Rourke took four wickets, while Tim Southee got a scalp as well.
Rishabh Pant was the highest scorer for India with 20(49) as they were bowled out for 46. In reply, New Zealand got up to 180/3 with a lead of 134 runs in the first innings. Rachin Ravindra (22* off 34) and Daryl Mitchell (14* off 39) are currently at the crease for the visitors ahead of day three.
