Mahipal Lomror shone with a triple century on day two of the Ranji Trophy fixture between Uttarakhand and Rajasthan at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy Ground in Dehradun. The left-hander remained unbeaten on 300*(360) runs as Rajasthan declared their first innings on 660 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Along with him Kartik Sharma also scored a century on day two as Rajasthan have put themselves in a commanding position against Uttarakhand.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Rajasthan lost their first wicket at the score of 23 as Abhijeet Tomar got out after scoring 20(28) runs. After that, Ram Chauhan (29 off 96) and Mahipal Lomror added 85 runs for the second wicket. After that, Rajasthan went on to four wickets at the score of 188 runs before Lomror was joined by Kartik Sharma at the crease.
Mahipal Lomror-Kartik Sharma’s partnership helped Rajasthan to reach 600+ total
After losing the fourth wicket, Mahipal Lomror and Kartik Sharma took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 177 runs for the fifth wicket. Kartik got out after a well made 113 runs off 115 balls, smashing 11 fours and six sixes. After that, Lomror added another 116 runs with Bharat Sharma (54 off 75) for the sixth wicket. In the bottom order, Deepak Chahar (35) and Kukna Ajay Singh also played crucial parts as Rajasthan went past 600 runs.
Mahipal Lomror finally completed his triple hundred on 360 balls before the skipper Deepak Hooda decided to call off the innings at 660/7 after 145.4 overs. Lomror smashed 25 fours and 13 sixes during his knock. In reply, Uttarakhand scored 109/2 by the end of day two, with skipper Ravikumar Samarth completing his fifty on 53 balls. He is still at the crease with Swapnil Singh before the start of day three.
