Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj came up with the best figures of his IPL career as Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in match number 19 of IPL 2025 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The right-arm pacer registered the figures of 4/17 as GT restricted SRH to 152/8. After that, skipper Shubman Gill played a captain’s knock as GT chased the winning total in 16.4 overs
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, SRH again had a poor start as they lost three wickets for 50 runs in 7.2 overs, with Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan getting out early. After that, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen added 50 runs for the fourth wickets. Reddy got out after scoring 31(34) runs while Klaasen 27(18) runs. In the end, skipper Pat Cummins gave finishing touches with a quickfire 22*(9) runs as SRH crossed the 150-run mark. For GT, Mohammed Siraj scalped four wickets, while Sai Kishore and Prasidh Krishna took two wickets each.
Shubman Gill scores 61*(43) runs as GT register convincing win
Chasing the winning target, GT also lost two wickets early as they were reduced to 16/2 in 3.5 overs. After that, skipper Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar put up a partnership of 90 runs for the third wicket. Playing his first game for GT, Sundar fell short of just one run from his fifty as he got out after scoring 49 runs off 29 balls hitting five fours and two sixes.
After that, Shubman Gill led from the front and scored an unbeaten 61 runs off 43 balls hitting nine boundaries. Along with him, Sherfane Rutherford also remained unbeaten on 35*(16) runs hitting six fours and a six as GT chased the winning target losing three wickets. For SRH, Mohammed Shami scalped two wickets while Pat Cummins put one in his bag.
