Chennai Super Kings have started their IPL 2025 campaign with a convincing four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in the third match of the season against Mumbai Indians at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. For CSK, Rachin Ravindra turned out to be a top scorer with his knock of 63*(45) runs. Apart from that, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad also played a captain’s knock of 53(26) runs as CSK chased the target of 156 runs in 19.1 overs.

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Mumbai Indians posted 155 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs. The visitors had a poor start as they lost three wickets for 36 runs in 4.4 overs. After that, skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma added 51 runs for the third wicket. Suryakumar scored 29(26) runs with two fours and a six, while Tilak contributed with 31(25) runs hitting two fours and two sixes. Deepak Chahar also gave finishing touches with 28*(15) runs as MI crossed the 151-run mark. For CSK, Noor Ahmed took 4, Khaleel Ahmed took two, while Nathan Ellis and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped a wicket each.

Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad guide CSK to easy win

Chasing the winning target, CSK also lost their opener Rahul Tripathi at a score of 11 runs in 1.4 overs. After that, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad joined Rachin Ravindra at the crease as the duo put up a partnership of 67 runs for the second wicket. Gaikwad got out after scoring 53 runs off 26 balls hitting six fours and three sixes.

After that, Rachin Ravindra took charge of the innings and kept the scoreboard running as CSK lose quick wickets in the middle overs. The left-hander smashed a six off the first ball of the last over as CSK clinched the victory against MI. Ravindra top scored with 63 runs off 45 runs hitting two fours and four sixes.
