Royal Challengers Bengaluru have now defeated Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium after 10 years as they registered their third win in IPL 2025. For RCB, skipper Rajat Patidar led from the front with a knock of 64(32) runs and guided his team to a big total. This was Patidar second fifty of the season after a match-winning fifty against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk on March 28. Notably, both the wins turned out to be a big win as RCB defeated CSK at Chepauk after 17 years and MI at Wankhede after 10 years.

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, RCB lost Phil Salt early as Trent Boult struck on the second ball of the innings. After that, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal put up a partnership of 91 runs for the second wicket. Devdutt got out after scoring 37(22) runs as skipper Rajat Patidar joined Kohli at the crease. Kohli and Patidar added 48 runs for the third wicket before Kohli got out after a well-made 67(42) runs hitting eight fours and two sixes.

After Virat Kohli’s dismissal, Rajat Patidar took charge of the innings as the RCB skipper went on to complete his fifty in just 25 balls. Along with him, Jitesh Sharma also played a quickfire knock as the duo put up a partnership of 69 runs. Patidar got out after playing a captain’s knock 64 runs off 32 balls hitting five fours and four sixes.

After that Jitesh Sharma gave finishing touches with an unbeaten 40*(19) runs hitting two fours and four sixes as RCB posted 221/5 in their 20 overs. In reply, MI also gave a tough fight in chasing a big target with Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma taking charge with the bat. However, the target was too big for MI as they were restricted at 209/9 in their 20 overs.
