Bangladesh have stunned West Indies by winning the second Test in Kingston by 101 runs and levelling the two-match Test series by 1-1. It was the first time in six years that Bangladesh won a Test match against West Indies. Last time they defeated the Windies in the longest format was in Mirpur on December 2, 2018. After Bangladesh set a target of 287 for West Indies to win, Taijul Islam shone with the ball and registered a five-wicket haul as West Indies were bowled out for 185 runs.
After posting just 164 runs, Bangladesh bowled West Indies out for just 146 runs taking a crucial lead of 18 runs. Nahid Rana registered figures of 5/61 in the first innings. After that, Nahid Rana top scored with 91(106) as Bangladesh posted 268 runs in the second innings with a lead of eight fours and five sixes. The right hander amassed eight fours and five sixes. Apart from that, Shabnam Islam and skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 46 and 42 runs respectively.

Coming to chase the winning target, skipper Kraigg Braithwatie gave a steady start to West Indies scoring 43(63) with two fours and a maximum. After that, Kavem Hodge top scored with a knock of 55(75) amassing six boundaries. Apart from that none of the other batters could make a big score as Taijul Islam registered match-winning figures of 5/50 in his spell of 17 overs.
West Indies were bowled out for 185 runs as the two-match Test series ended on 1-1. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud scalped 2 wickets, while Nahid Rana put one in his bag along with Taijul Islam’s five-wicket haul.
