The talented keeper made his first-class debut for Andhra in 2013. Since then, he has been a consistent run-scorer for the domestic team and a permanent fixture in the India A team. He has over 4,500 runs in 84 first-class matches at an average of 37.46, with nine tons. It was Bharat’s impressive performances in the IPL 2021, which helped him to receive recognition and earn a selection into the Test team as well.

The 29-year-old recently slammed 77 off 132 balls, while also effecting five dismissals as a keeper for India A against Bangladesh A.  Furthermore, Bharat marked his presence as the second gloveman in the India squad for the Bangladesh series. With Pant not being available, Bharat, with plenty of experience in red-ball cricket can make his debut in the series.
