Team India has been jolted with a blow as pacer Prasidh Krishna reportedly sustained an injury during Karnataka’s Ranji trophy Elite Group C match against Madhya Pradesh. During the four-day match at the Holkar Stadium, reports made rounds with Prasidh Krishna sustaining a fresh injury, adding to the fitness concerns.

These reports make round after he was named late on Friday, October 11 as a travelling reserve for the three-match Test series against New Zealand. The 28-year-old bowled only eight overs on the first day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match and did not take the field on the third day, raising concerns of his fitness.

Injury threat looms over Prasidh Krishna

However, an official confirmation from the Karnataka cricket board is still awaited on Prasidh Krishna’s fitness, reports quoting Sportstar add that he faced some discomfort while running on the opening day. 

Speaking of the upcoming series, I ndia will host New Zealand in a three-match Test series, starting from October 16. While the first Test is scheduled to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the two teams will then travel to Pune for the second Test, set to be played from October 24 at MCA. The final match of the series will be held at the Wankhede Stadium from November 1.
