The inaugural champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have been handed a massive blow as their star Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna is set to miss the upcoming edition of the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, March 12 confirmed the update on three Indian players, including Prasidh Krishna.

The 28-year-old Karnataka born player underwent a surgery on February 23 on his left proximal quadriceps tendon and will miss the upcoming edition of IPL, starting March 22. “The fast bowler underwent surgery on February 23rd, 2024, on his left proximal quadriceps tendon. He is currently being monitored by the BCCI Medical Team and will resume rehab at the National Cricket Academy soon. Rishabh Pant declared fit by B CCI
Moreover, the BCCI has declared Rishabh Pant fit for the upcoming IPL 2024. The wicketkeeper-batter, who was part of a horrific accident in December 2022, has been declared fit to resume wicketkeeping roles. “After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life-threatening road mishap on December 30th, 2022, near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant has now been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batter for upcoming TATA IPL 2024,” the BCCI wrote.
The 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter will take the helm, replacing David Warner in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
