Milutin Osmajic, the Preston North End forward, has been charged by the Football Association (FA) for violent conduct after he had allegedly bitten Blackburn Rovers defender Owen Beck’s neck during the English Championship clash, which ended in a 0-0 draw at the Deepdale Stadium. Owen Beck, who is on loan from Liverpool, was sent off in the 89th minute of the contest for fouling Duane Holmes, which led to a melee ensuing between players of both teams, and then, the biting incident happened.

After being bitten by Milutin Osmajic in the latter stages of the match, Owen Beck furiously protested to the referee Matthew Donohue about the incident, who gave a yellow card to the Preston North End forward. Later on, the replay on the live broadcast appeared to have shown that Osmajic did bite on the upper back of Beck, but the latter had to walk back to the dressing room to serve his red card.

Milutin Osmajic, 25, has until Monday, September 30 to provide a response: FA

In an official statement, the FA Spokesperson remarked that Milutin Osmajic has been charged with violent conduct for biting Owen Beck, and he has until Monday, September 30, to respond to it. They wrote, “Milutin Osmajic has been charged following Preston North End's EFL Championship game against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday, 22 September. It's alleged that the forward committed an act of violent conduct by biting an opponent around the 87th minute. Milutin Osmajic, 25, has until Monday, 30 September, to provide a response.”

After the conclusion of a goalless draw against Preston North End at Deepdale Stadium, Blackburn manager John Eustace told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Owen's got a big bite mark on the back of his neck and it's a shame the referee didn't see that." Notably, in 2013, Luis Suarez, who was playing for Liverpool, received a 10-match suspension from the FA for biting on Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic in the Premier League, so if Milutin Osamjic is proven guilty of biting Owen Beck, then his suspension could be on the similar lines if not more.
