August 18, 2023, marked India's great Virat Kohli’s 15 years in international cricket. The 34-year-old made his debut in an ODI game against Sri Lanka in 2008. Though the young and flamboyant Kohli could manage to score only 12 runs off 22 balls, nobody knew back then that the West Delhi boy was going to become one of the greatest cricketers to have represented India on an international level. On the milestone, cricketer’s brother Vikas Kohli posted a heartfelt wish for his brother.
Virat’s elder brother Vikas took to Instagram to share an emotional note for his superstar sibling. Since his first match in India colours, the 34-year-old has scored 25,582 runs with a combination of 76 hundreds, averaging 53.63. Speaking of various formats of the sport, Kohli emerged as one of the top run scorers over the years. In Test format, the Royal Challengers Bangalore batter stands in the fifth spot of highest runs for India. Having made his debut in 2011, Kohli represented India in 111 Tests with 8,676 runs in his account.
In the ODI format, Kohli has scored 12,898 runs in 275 ODIs with an average of 57.32. Speaking of the shortest format, Virat has a total of 4,008 runs in 115 T20I games he played for India.
