Preview
The league stage of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is done and dusted. The four teams to have qualified are Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. While the top two teams (Qalandars and Sultans) will be fighting for a spot in the Final, Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi will battle it out in the first Eliminator of PSL 2023.
The two teams fared decently in the league stage as they finished adjacent to each other on the points table. While United managed six wins in ten league games and finished in third place, Zalmi finished in fourth place with five wins in ten games. Now, the two teams have a chance to book themself a spot in the second stage. However, only one of them can progress while the other will have to head back.
It is expected to be a neck-to-neck battle with both teams going full throttle. While the Babar Azam-led team will look to outdo United in batting, the Shadab Khan-led team will look to capitalize on Zalmi’s bowling woes.
