The PUBG Mobile 3.6 update is now out globally on January 09, featuring a new exciting Sacred Quartet theme mode, map areas, a panda vehicle, abilities, gameplay enhancements, and more features. Key Updates

  • Supported Maps: Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok (Ranked and Unranked)

New Map Areas

Four Guardians Sect:

1. A cultivation sanctum resting atop a towering mountain, wherein traces of various elements are gathered. Approach the base of the Four Guardians Sect mountain to automatically get flown to the sky to parachute.

2. Three Elemental Devices:

  • Fire Stone: Automatically picked up on approach. Grants a short speed buff and a flame slide effect that can be triggered by crouching while running.

  • Water Geyser: Erupts intermittently. When it erupts, players on it will be launched into the air and gain the ability to slowly descend for a short time. Press jump to cancel the effect.

  • Wood Vines: Tap the climb button near the vines to effortlessly scale it and gain a better vantage point.

3. Refined Crates: Use elemental arts on them and after a short duration they will explode, leaving behind high-quality supplies.

4. Spirit Air Drop: After a period of time has passed in the Four Guardians Sect, a countdown will announce the imminent arrival of two air drop crates at random locations. Rush to them and compete for supplies.

Elemental Mastery Pavilion:

  1. Training halls where Sect disciples of each elemental faction once trained every day.

  2. Elemental Devices: This area contains various elemental devices corresponding to the faction they correlate to - Fire Stones, Water Geysers, and Wood Vines.

  3. Cultivation Chamber: A room where disciples cultivated. Pass all the elemental trials for a chance gain secret Sect treasures.

  4. Serene Bamboo Forest: Feed the pandas resting in this area to gain their favor and get a Panda vehicle.

  5. Spirit Gate: Portals that enable one-way travel from the Elemental Mastery Pavilion to the Four Guardians Sect. The gate stays open for 30 seconds, after which it will become inactive for a certain duration before opening again.

Mystic Scroll:

  1. Mystic Scrolls are scattered throughout the map. Interact with them to get transported to the Mystic Enclave.

  2. Relax on a meditation cushion in the Mystic Enclave and take in the peaceful scenery.

  3. The area also contains hidden treasures filled with supplies.

  4. Interact with the Mystic Scroll inside the enclave to leave the area and return to your point of entry.

New Character Elemental Arts

Elemental Art Selection: Select an elemental art after arriving at Spawn Island. You can edit your choice at any time on Spawn Island, but it is fixed upon arriving at the battleground.

Flaming Phoenix: Damage & Movement Abilities

  1. Let the Flaming Phoenix possess you and gain two new skills: Phoenix Flames and Phoenix Soar.

  2. Phoenix Flames: Form a fireball on the ground that slowly spreads. Fireballs will not harm allies.

  3. Phoenix Soar: Soar into the sky, reaching heights far beyond a regular jump.

  4. Both skills consume Energy, but can be used quickly one after another. Energy gradually recovers.

  5. You can switch in and out of Flaming Phoenix form while the possession skill is active.

  6. Phoenix possession lasts a set duration or until manually canceled.

Aqua Dragon: Defensive Ability

  1. Use it to spawn a dragon that forms a wide water barrier.

  2. The barrier is opaque and blocks the enemy's view.

  3. Characters, vehicles, bullets, and throwables can pass through the water barrier. Shots that pass through deal reduced damage.

  4. Players can move the water barrier, but can't hold a firearm or heal up while doing so.

Whirlwind Tiger: Swift Movement Ability

  1. Move forward swiftly with the aid of a strong gust and cloud. You cannot use firearms or perform actions such as crouching while atop the cloud.

  2. A wind shield in the shape of a tiger will also appear in front of the player, providing protection against gunfire from both the front and sides. It disappears after blocking a certain amount of damage.

  3. When the skill ends or is manually canceled, players will leap off the cloud. If the Whirlwind Tiger shield is active, it will vanish as well.

Naturespirit Deer: Summoning Ability

  1. Summon a deer spirit that can be made to travel over long distances like a horse.

  2. Control the deer to attack enemies and mark them temporarily.

  3. Players can teleport to the deer's location, but it takes a while and the deer will disappear afterwards.

New Gameplay Mechanics

Spirit Collecting Bell

  1. Some time into the match, all surviving teams will be separated into groups.

  2. Each group is assigned a Spirit Collecting Bell. Its location is only visible to members of the teams in the group.

  3. Approach the bell and interact with it to activate a countdown. A crate will appear at the end of the countdown, leaving supplies on the ground.

  4. Skill cooldowns are reduced within the bell's vicinity

Guardians United

At the start of the challenge, each of the 4 players must select a sacred beast's elemental ability. All players must survive to claim victory, upon which a special results animation will play.

New Interactive Objects

Water Vat: Break it through various actions. Once broken, it will spray out supplies.

Chime Bells: Consult the stone tablet to receive a password, then shoot the corresponding chime bells in the correct order to open the crate.

New Themed Vehicle

Two-Seater Animal Vehicle: Panda

  1. Can be found in the bamboo forest.

  2. You can use firearms in its basic form.

  3. In its rolling form, the panda is more defensive and swiftly carries its passengers in its arms. It switches back to basic form after taking a certain amount of damage in rolling form.

Classic Map Updates

Firearm Updates

New Firearm: Welding Gun

  1. A short-range tool for repairing vehicles.

  2. Equips to the Pistol slot and its ammo can't be replenished.

  3. Use it to restore an ally vehicle's Health, or deplete an enemy vehicle's Health.

Firearm Adjustments: Classic Mode Light Machine Gun

M249:

  1. Improved the M249's default ammo count. It now comes with a full clip of 75 bullets when picking it up.

  2. Improved the M249's damage to limbs.

  3. Lowered the M249's horizontal recoil when firing.

  4. Slightly improved the running speed with the M249 equipped.

DP-28:

  1. Slightly lowered the DP-28's horizontal recoil when firing.

PUBG Mobile 3.6 Update New Vehicle Features

Vehicle Drift

  1. Vehicles can be drifted by using the emergency brake while turning.

  2. Steer and adjust the throttle to control the drift.

  3. This feature is available for some 4-wheeled vehicles.

Auto Advance

  1. Activating this feature while driving will allow your vehicle to move forward by itself without holding accelerate.

  2. This feature is available for some 4-wheeled vehicles. Enabling it makes drifting easier.

Other Improvements

Backpack: Melee weapons now take up less space in the backpack.

Jump: After parachuting and landing, you will prioritize equipping your most recently used firearm.

Stage Improvements:

  1. The appearance of the dance stage will be updated periodically, and now includes Bubbles and other performance effects.

  2. Added new dance stage interactions. Use the Victory Dance Emote on the dance stage and the corresponding icon will appear on the side of the screen.

World of Wonder Updates

WOW Creator Titles Update: Improved the Personal Space details of some WOW Creator titles.

New Team-Up Features: WOW now supports chat recruitment and the Team-Up Lobby for faster matchmaking.

Improved Recommendations: Added personalized recommendations, customizable search results, and "You May Like" preferences settings.

Improved Search: The search system now includes search history and intelligent keyword recommendations.

Map Tag Improvements: Improved how tags are calculated. Creators may be penalized for inappropriate tagging.

Wonder Season Improvements:

  1. Added Wonder Season Career Results. Go to the Stats tab on the Wonder Season page to view match details from the last 20 matches you earned Wonder Points from.

  2. Improved notifications for when a creation has been updated.

  3. All creations are no longer selected by default.

  4. Improved creation details on the creation selection screen.

  • Resource Download Rewards: You will now receive a reward the first time you download WOW resources.

In-Match Features

New Playtest Feature: Starts the playtest from your character's current location.

Custom Presets: You can now edit object parameters, save them as a custom preset, batch edit presets placed in the scene, and add custom attributes.

Advanced Feature Display: Advanced features will be hidden by default. To access them, go to the editor parameter interface and change editing modes.

Vehicle Device:

  1. Added the Panda, Bicycle, Buggy, and Motor Glider.

  2. The Payload Device is now called the Flying Vehicle Device.

  3. The Motorcycle Spawn Device is now called the 2-Wheeled Vehicle Spawn Device.

  4. The Compact Car Spawn Device is now called the 4-Wheeled Vehicle Spawn Device.

Gameplay Device Updates: Added the Magnet Gun to the Item Issuance Device, Item Spawn Device, and Custom Shop Device.

New Livik Template: Added an empty Livik map template.

Backpack Tab: Added a Functional Objects tab for contested objects, pickups, and more.

  2. You might obtain a surprise drop during your interaction.

Fabled Equipment Update

  • The maximum number of special traits for Fabled equipment has been increased from 2 to 4.

  • Most special traits are available at higher levels with more potent effects.

  • Special traits can be enhanced, during which there is a chance to gain new traits.

  • Upgrading special traits requires materials obtained from dismantling Fabled equipment.

  • New Special Traits: Loot Detector, Armor-Piercing Rounds, Protection Set.

  • After upgrading Fabled equipment, their levels and effects will be displayed simultaneously in the Gallery.

Home Events

Home Competition

  • Submission Period: 2025/1/9 at 00:00—2025/1/25 at 8:59 (UTC+0)

  • Selection Period: 2025/1/25 at 9:00—2025/2/24 at 9:00 (UTC+0)

  1. You must reach at least 200 Home Prosperity before you can register for the Home Competition.

  2. If you miss the submission period, you can still register during the selection period. After registering, you will be placed in the next round's matchmaking pool.

  3. After registering, the selection criteria will be based on the current look of the your Home.

  4. During the selection period, you'll be matched with players of similar Home Prosperity at random every 3 days, for 10 rounds in total.

  5. During the face-off, the player that obtains more votes wins. The winner gets to loot points from the loser.

  6. Participate in Home Face-Offs to win Home Points and increase your Home Face-Off Level. The higher the Home Face-Off Level, the better the rewards.

  7. Home Votes can be obtained by completing missions and by sending Home gifts. Note: Regular Popularity gifts do not grant Home Votes.

  8. Home gifts given during each face-off round of the selection period will count towards Home Votes. Home gifts given outside a face-off round will not count towards the number of votes

Home Roommates

Availability: Gradually rolled out after the version update.

Gameplay: Apply to become roommates with a connected friend.

  1. Shared Home: Visit and edit it together.

  2. Shared Level: Living with a high-level player unlocks high level permissions and rewards.

  3. Shared Inventory: Use the shared inventory items when building.

  4. Roommate Crystal: An exclusive shared Home structure. Level up your Rapport to get exclusive rewards.

  5. Exclusive Rewards: Get a duo doorplate, Romantic Confession Roses Platform, and other rewards.

Application Requirements

  1. The applicant must have a Lv. 15 Home.

  2. The invitee must have completed the Home tutorial.

  3. Both parties must have a Connection and over 300 Synergy.

Additional details:

  1. After agreeing to room together, a shared Home will be generated.

  2. You can only room with one person at a time.

  3. Your solo Home will be restored when you leave your roommate.

Home Shop

  • Home Shop & Lucky Spin: Added Sylvan Mystique items.

Editing Improvements

  • Added a "cache" feature that automatically saves your most recently edited and published blueprint. You can also use this feature to revert your Home to a previously stored version.

Themed Arena

Themed Map: This themed Arena mode takes place in a recreation of Sacred Quartet themed mode's Four Guardians Sect.

Gameplay Rules: Themed Arena Mode uses Assault Mode rules.

  1. Enjoy endless respawns.

  2. Earn 1 point for each enemy eliminated.

  3. The first team to eliminate a certain number of enemies within the time limit wins.

System Improvements

General Improvements

  • 90 and 120 fps are now available for some more new devices.

  • Adjusted highlights clip saving priority by reducing the emphasis of Elimination Streak clips. Solo eliminations are now more prioritized.

  • New Highlight: Marked for Demise

After eliminating 2 or more enemies with a single bolt action sniper rifle shot in Classic or Ranked, you can tap a button that appears on-screen to replay the moment.

Settings Improvements

Graphics Settings: Added graphics preference settings. The game will provide players with recommended settings based on their device and preferences.

Special Effects & Audio Settings Location:

  1. To accommodate the newly adjusted graphics settings, special effects and audio settings have been re-classified.

  2. Graphics & Audio is now just "Graphics". Crosshair has been changed to "Crosshair & Special Effects". Haptic Feedback has been changed to "Audio & Haptics".

Friend System

  • When Synergy with a friend reaches over 1,000, it will be saved in the system for 1 week should you unfriend them. If you add them again during this period, your Synergy will be restored the next time you log in.

Connection

Connection Network:

  1. The Connections network is now displayed by default when going to the Connections page.

  2. Connections with more Synergy and Interactivity from the previous week will have larger avatars and be positioned closer to you.

  3. You can now view overall social summary data for the previous week to see which players you interacted with.

  4. Display the Connections network page by default when viewing other players' Connections.

Connections:

  1. Adjusted the position of the main player for some Partner Emotes.

  2. Improved the interactivity of Connection Display settings. Tap on a silhouette to set and display a player.

  3. Both parties will be informed via chat and mail when your Connection type changes.

  4. Added new Interactivity token rewards.

Social Appearance

  • Adjusted the effects of some Social Player Cards and Info Cards, and fixed an issue that caused missing effects.

Popularity Gift Events

Popularity Battle Event

  • Registration Period: 2025/1/9 at 00:00–2025/1/15 at 8:59 (UTC+0) Battle Period: 2025/1/15 at 9:00–2025/2/14 at 9:00 (UTC+0)

Rules:

  1. Reduced Participation Requirements: Reach Player Lv. 2 or above, and Popularity Lv. 3 or above.

  2. If you miss the registration period, you can still sign up during the battle period. After registering, you will be placed in the next round's matchmaking pool.

  3. Matchmaking: There are 10 rounds in total. Get matched with an evenly-matched opponent every 3 days.

  4. Battle: Both players will compete to see who can gain the most Popularity during this phase.

  5. The winner can loot 50% of their opponent's points.

  6. Battle Points = Basic Points + Looted Points. Basic Points increase with the amount of Popularity gained. The higher the Popularity of the loser, the greater the number of points the winner can loot.

  7. Participate in the battle to win points and upgrade your Battle Level. The higher the Battle Level, the rarer the rewards obtained.

Synergy Party

  • Event Period: 2025/1/15 at 00:00–2025/1/28 at 23:59 (UTC+0)

  • Complete missions such as adding friends and teaming up during the event to get Synergy items and a time-limited outfit.

Synergy Bonus Event

During the event, friends can gain bonus Synergy by sending gifts. Rewards can be claimed after reaching a certain amount of bonus Synergy.

Security Related

Account Security Alerts: Added alerts for new device logins, linked account changes, and other actions that pose a risk to account security.

Eagle System Updates:

  1. The Eagle System review cooldown has been reduced from 120 seconds to 30 seconds.

  2. Added a restrain cheater feature.

Security Strategy:

  1. Improved cheat detection for X-Ray vision, auto aim, shot tracking, area damage modification, no recoil, speed hacks, high jump, modified resource files, and more.

  2. Improved violation detection for unfair cooperation, malicious matching, and teaming up with cheaters.

  3. Improved the in-game detection and countermeasures against account farming, prohibited transactions, escorting, botting, popularity violations, and more to better regulate in-game behavior and improve players' gaming experience.

  4. Improved detection and penalties for inappropriate text, voice messages, avatars, and Home designs to better regulate in-game behavior.
