If reports are to be believed, the England Cricket Board (ECB) has denied Non-Objection Certificate (NOC) to wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow. The 33-year-old was retained by the Punjab Kings prior to the IPL 2023 Play Auction in December. The ECB has denied the batter NOC keeping him in contention for home Ashes series, scheduled to start in June.

It is to be noted that Bairstow suffered a weird injury while playing golf in September last year and later underwent surgery on the broken leg and dislocated ankle keeping him out of cricketing action.

However, the England board has agreed and given NOC to Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran. The two England explosives are set to be available for the Punjab Kings for the entire season. While Liam Livingstone was retained by the franchise, the Punjab-based side had bought all-rounder Sam Curran for a whopping INR 18.90 Crore.

Complete squad of PBKS for IPL 2023: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Shahrukh Khan, Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jitesh Sharma, Raj Angad Bawa, Rishi Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, Atharva Taide, Arshdeep Singh, Baltej Singh, Nathan Ellis, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Harpreet Brar, Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza, Vidwath Kaverappa,  Shivam Singh, Harpreet Bhatia and Mohit Rathee
