France and Manchester United’s legendary defender Raphael Varane has announced his departure from the club after the conclusion of his contract at the end of this season. He will end his tenure with the Red Devils after playing three seasons.
The 31-year-old, who represented the Spanish club Real Madrid before moving to the Premier League in 2021, has represented United in 93 games and has proved to be a great luxury for the side ever since. In his total appearances for the club across the competitions, the Frenchman has aided the team in winning their first major cup in six years when they lifted the Carabao Cup 2023 at Wembley.

I’ll see you at Old Trafford to say goodbye: Raphael Varane
Varane shared a video on his social media handle stating his gratitude to the Man United fans. He said, “To you guys, supporters of Manchester United, it’s been an amazing few years to play for this special club and wearing that shirt. The first time I went to Old Trafford as a Man United player, it was insane, the atmosphere was amazing.”
He added, “I fell in love with the club, with the fans, you have to play, for Man United. To understand what that represents, for my kids, it is home here. It’s going to be a special place for me for life. When the fans go to Wembley, it’s something they remember for life, to share that moment with them was absolutely amazing.”
“Despite the fact we had a difficult season, I’m very positive for the future. The new owners are coming up with a clear plan and a great strategy. I’ll see you at Old Trafford to say goodbye, for the last game at home this season. And it’s going to be a very emotional day for me, for sure,” he concluded.
