The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced squads for India's upcoming New Zealand and Bangladesh tours. As the announcement confirmed that few senior players will be rested from the tour after a gruelling T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, couple of players who have impressed with their performance in the domestic circuit received calls from the selection committee.
Notably, veteran allrounder Ravindra Jadeja will make a comeback in a red-ball series against Bangladesh after suffering an injury during Asia Cup 2022. The likes of Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen and Rajat Patidar also found their name in the squad but a few talented players were left disappointed as their names were not included in the announcement.
While Prithvi Shaw expressed his disappointment via an Insta story, young sensation Ravi Bishnoi too didn't hesitate from communicating his feelings over his exclusion from the squads.
"Comeback is always stronger than setback," tweeted Ravi Bishnoi hours after BCCI named squads for both the tours. Notably, the leg-spinner is among the reserve players for Team India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia but was asked to stay in India along with Shreyas Iyer.
Apart from Prithvi Shaw and Ravi Bishnoi, veteran fast bowler Umesh Yadav too shared his Insta story stating that 'Maybe you can fool me, but God is watching you.' Even middle-order batter Nitish Rana posted an Insta story with 'HOPE hold on, pain ends,' written on it.
Notably, Team India will play white-ball series against New Zealand after the T20 World Cup, starting with the first T20I on November 18 at Sky Stadium. After the three-match T20I series, both the teams will lock horns in the three-match ODIs, starting from November 25 at Eden Park in Auckland.
After the conclusion of the New Zealand tour, Team India will tour Bangladesh to play three-match ODI series, followed by two Test matches.
