The Men in Blue registered their biggest-ever Test victory as they defeated England in the third Test in Rajkot by 434 runs on Sunday, February 18. While it was Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan who shone with the bat, Ravindra Jadeja starred with his all-round performance.
The Indian all-rounder played a key knock of 112 in the first innings and completed the victory for the hosts with a seven -wicket haul, to help India take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. His performance with both bat and ball got several accolades, including the Player of the Match award. But to everyone’s surprise, the 35-year-old dedicated his award to wife, Rivaba Jadeja . “This is a special Man of the Match at my home ground. I would like to dedicate this award to my wife. She has been working hard behind the scenes, mentally. She always gives me confidence,” Jadeja said in a video shared by BCCI on Monday.
It is to be noted that Jadeja’s this gesture comes after the couple came into limelight after his father, Anirudhsinh Jadeja spoke of strained relationships. However, the veteran Indian all-rounder refuted the reports the same day, taking to social media and writing, “The things mentioned in the dubious interview to Divya Bhaskar are meaningless and false. Those are one-sided comments that I deny them. The attempt to tarnish the image of my wife is improper and condemnable. I too have a lot to say but it is better that I don’t reveal those things in public.”
Jadeja’s wife also reacted in a viral video when he was asked about her relationship with father-in-law.
