The match number 20 of the Nepal Premier League 2024 turned out to be a low scoring thriller between Biratnagar Kings and Pokhara Avengers at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. After a convincing performance with the ball, Raymon Reifer also scored a crucial 34*(23) runs as Pokhara Avengers ended up equalling the total scored by Biratnagar Kings before he won them the contest in the super over.
Batting first, Scott Edwards top scored with a knock of 45(35) runs hitting five boundaries as Biratnagar Kings posted 139/7 in their 20 overs. For Pokhara, Raymon Reifer and Sagar Dhakal took two wickets each, while skipper Kushal Bhurtel and Dinesh Kharel scalped a wicket each. After that, Andries Gous top scored with 39(27), while Bhurtel also got a steady 31(34) runs as Pokhara were nearing the target, but they kept losing wickets regularly.
Raymon Reifer’s all-round performance in super over takes Pokhara Avengers to famous win
Raymon Reifer took the charge of the innings in the middle to death overs, and remained unbeaten on 34*(23) runs, hitting three fours and two sixes. However, Pokhara Avengers couldn’t cross the finishing line as they also ended up posting 139/6, which meant that the match went to a super over. For Biratnagar, Pratis GC scalped four wickets, while Chris Sole put two in his bag. After that, Raymon Reifer took charge again in super over.
Batting first in super over, Raymon Reifer smashed 17 runs off five balls as Pokhara Avengers scored 18 runs in six balls. After that, Reifer also shone with his tight bowling as Biratnagar Kings could only score five runs in the super over. This was Pokhara’s second win in five matches in the ongoing Nepal Premier League 2024 tournament.
