R oyal Challengers Bangalore fans lauded Cameron Green as he came up with a crucial century against New Zealand on Thursday, February 29. Australia are touring New Zealand for a two-format series, consisting of a three-match T20I series and two Test matches. After losing the T20I series 0-3, the Kiwis hosted their Aussie counterparts in the first Test at Basin Reserve in Wellington. Green repaid the selectors’ faith by scoring his second Test century to help the side finish at 279-9 at stumps on Day 1.
Green reached the milestone after delivering three boundaries in the final over. The Aussie reached from fifty to triple figures in just 46 balls and hit 16 boundaries during the knock. Needless to say, the inning has surely come at a crucial time of his career. The all-rounder was dropped from Tests last year after a below-par performance on the international stage. With less than a month to go for the Indian Premier League, Green’s knock left RCB fans excited and they are waiting for the 24-year-old to deliver big knocks in the cash-rich league.
The all-rounder was traded to RCB from Mumbai Indians for a massive sum of ₹17.5 crore ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.
