Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has yet again heaped praise of the Indian and RCB batter Virat Kohli after he surpassed Chris Gayle to smash most centuries in IPL history. This feat of Virat Kohli came against Gujarat Titans in an all-important game for RCB. Now with seven IPL centuries, Kohli now has more than 80 centuries to his name.
After this feat, former Pakistan spearhead Mohammad Amir has hit back at Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. Amir took a sly dig at the Pak skipper who has around 30 centuries to his name, stating that Virat Kohli is the “real king”. In a tweet which read, “100 number 82 from the real king @imVkohli what a inning in must win game. True champion and inspiration for many people,” Amir said.
It is said that with this tweet he made a possible reference to Babar Azam claiming that Kohli is better than the latter, further referring him as a “true champion and inspiration”.
It is said that Babar Azam and Mohammad Amir do not usually gel along well and an instance of the same was evident during the PSL 2023. Ahead of his team’s contest in PSL 2023 against Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi, Amir stated that there is no difference between bowling to Babar Azam and the tailenders. The two also engaged in an heated argument during one of the matches of PSL this year.
