Real Madrid has issued an official statement to dispel the rumours that President Florentino Perez is planning to resign from his position. The club said that the rumours are "totally false" and motivated by "vested interests" that have nothing to do with reality. The rumours started to circulate on some social media platforms, claiming that Perez was considering stepping down from his role as president of Real Madrid and that the next General Assembly of Representative Partners of Real Madrid would discuss his departure.

The rumours also suggested that Perez was unhappy with the club's performance, finances, and image in the wake of the failed European Super League project, of which he was one of the main promoters. However, Real Madrid quickly denied these claims and reaffirmed their support for Perez, who has been the president of the club since 2009 and previously from 2000 to 2006.
The club said in its statement, “These rumours are false and obey some interests that are nothing to do with reality. And that in the next General Assembly of Representative Partners of Real Madrid, there will be no item on the agenda in which the name of Real Madrid City is discussed.”
Perez, who is 74 years old, is one of the most influential and powerful figures in world football. He is known for his ambitious and controversial projects, such as the Galacticos era, the Bernabeu renovation, and the Super League. He has also overseen six La Liga titles and six Champions Leagues, with Perez's heavy spending helping the La Liga side remain among Europe's elite.

Perez's current mandate as president will expire in 2025, and he has not indicated any intention of leaving before then. He was re-elected unopposed in 2017 and 2021, as no other candidate could meet the requirements to challenge him.
