The Brazilian faced racial abuse in the match against Valencia in La Liga over the weekend which has resulted in outrage in the Madrid camp. Addressing the incident, Los Blancos have stated that they will file a public prosecution case regarding this matter.
The statement said that the club considers the act as a ‘hate crime’ and mentions Article 124 of the Spanish Constitution. Article 124 promotes the ‘operation of justice’ and defends citizens’ rights. Real Madrid said in its statement, ‘Real Madrid has turned to the State Attorney General's Office, without prejudice to its appearance as a private prosecution in the proceedings that are being initiated.’
Vinicius Junior has claimed that he has faced multiple cases of racial abuse to which the LaLiga chief Javier Tebas responded strongly. The matter will now continue in court and it is expected to reach a proper conclusion.
