MS Dhoni, the Indian cricketing legend, has been one of the most loved cricketers in India and the world for a very long time. In the same vein, during the IPL 2023, the Chennai Super Kings fans superseded all expectations as far as MSD fandom goes. They filled the grounds to capacity in the CSK heartland of Chepauk and every other venue in the country where Thala went onto play cricket in this year’s Indian Premier League.

During the broadcast of the IPL 2023 Final, Star Sports revealed an awe-striking data on how great the fandom of MSD in India has become viz-a-viz Chennai Super Kings. According to them, the decibel levels of Dhoni chants at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai reached an eye-opening number of 120, which is far greater than the noise of an aircraft at 100 decibels.

As per medical experts, a whisper from a person generally gets up to 30 decibels, while the regular talk hovers around 60 decibels. Meanwhile, the decibel level of a motorcycle reaches around the number 95 when the engine runs. Also, the human ear can take up to 70 decibel levels of voice for a short time, otherwise it can cause serious damage.

Meanwhile, Star Sports also provided data of other venues where MS Dhoni played the IPL matches. At the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the decibel levels of Dhoni chants got up to 117 decibels.

Notably, on May 29, Monday, the 41-year-old captain of Chennai Super Kings, Mahendra Singh Dhoni led his side to their fifth IPL trophy after defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this monumental win, CSK levelled MI’s record of five Indian Premier League titles.
