My priority is to perform well and stay in the right mindset: Rohit Sharma

After the Champions Trophy 2025 win, Rohit Sharma dismissed all the rumours of his retirement from the ODI format and said he will continue to play the 50-over cricket for India. However, talking about his chances for playing the 2027 ODI World Cup, Rohit said that he can’t make any commitments and wants to focus on the present.

“At this stage, I’m just focusing on the present and taking things as they come. Thinking too far ahead wouldn’t be fair to myself. Right now, my priority is to perform well and stay in the right mindset. I don’t want to make any definitive statements about whether I’ll be playing in the 2027 World Cup or not. There’s no real benefit in making such commitments at this point. Throughout my career, I’ve always approached things one step at a time,” Rohit was quoted as saying by CricToday.
