Although Rishabh Pant is away from competitive cricket and will remain for almost a year, the Indian wicketkeeper batter made headlines on Monday for all the good reasons. While Pant survived a horrible car crash on December 30, 2022, and is currently undergoing a recovery process, wishes have been pouring in from all quarters for the terrific Indian cricketer.
In one such wish; a father of a young boy drew the attention of the Indian cricketer as the former posted a cute video of his son. The Twitter user named Suvajit Mustafi, tagged Pant in his Tweet which featured a video of young Ayan smashing the ball while batting left-handed. Mr Mustafi informed his son turned 6 today and requested the Indian batter to wish his son.
“Hey @RishabhPant 17, Hope your recovery process is going smooth? My son, Ayan – is your biggest fan. A heart warrior and a fellow left-hander, he aspires to be like you. He has been praying for your recovery since Dec. 30. He turns 6 today. Could you pls with ‘birthday to him?” wrote the Twitter user.
In response, Pant replied “Happy birthday Ayan. Have a great year.”
Pant is side-lined for nearly two years: Sourav Ganguly
In a recent interaction with PTI, former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly revealed that he had recently interacted with the Indian wicket-keeper batter. Ganguly also revealed that it might take a year or even two before Pant makes a comeback to cricket.
“I spoke to him a couple of times. Obviously, he is going through a tough period, through injuries and surgeries and I wish him well. In a year’s time or may be in a couple of year’ time, he will be back playing for India,” Ganguly told PTI.
