Rodri, the Manchester City and Spanish player, who won the prestigious Ballon d’Or award recently, is among the lead nominees for the best men’s player category at the FIFA Best Awards 2024. His club teammate Erling Haaland, Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, Lamine Yamal, and Lionel Messi are some of the other nominees for the top award, but the most glaring omission of the lot is Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese footballing superstar.

Just like the Ballon d’Or award, where the Real Madrid and Brazilian star, Vinicius Jr, ran Rodri quite close in the votes last month, it is expected that the Spaniard will not have it easy at the FIFA Best Awards 2024 either. Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid and England footballer, who finished in third place in the Ballon d’Or voting in October, will be hopeful about becoming the first player from his country to win the coveted FIFA prize.

As far as the best goal-keepers in the men’s category goes, the likes of Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa and Argentina, Ederson from Manchester City and Brazil, along with Andrey Lunin from Ukraine and Real Madrid will be firmly in line to win at the FIFA Best Awards 2024. The best coach award could go to either Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen, or Pep Guardiola of Manchester City.

The FIFA Best Awards 2024 will be decided by a vote equally split between fans, current captains and coaches of all the national teams, along with the representatives from the media.
