India skipper Rohit Sharma dropped hints on his availability in the T20I World Cup 2024. Sharma has subtly given his confirmation of playing in the forthcoming cricket event scheduled for the next year in West Indies and USA. Notably, Sharma recently led his side in the Test, along with the first match of the ODI series against the West Indies. Star players like Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested with the selectors giving a chance to the youngsters.

The 36-year-old cricketer said that he is looking forward to playing the 2024 World Cup and hinted at his availability for the marquee event. Sharma was at the launch of his cricket academy in California, USA on August 6, Sunday, where he interacted with youngsters and talked about the same.

Sharma said, “More than just going and enjoying, there is another reason to come here because the World Cup is coming. In June, there will be the World Cup happening in this part of the world. I’m sure everyone is excited. So yeah, we look forward to that.”

Notably, Hardik Pandya was handed the captaincy of India’s T20I squad after India’s performance in the 2022 World Cup. With this, Rohit’s captaincy has been now limited to the Test and ODI formats. Before India’s tour of the West Indies, Sharma led the Indian side in the WTC Final 2023, where they slumped to the Australians by 209 runs.
