Team India skipper Rohit Sharma is often known to have an ability to turn games in their favour with his explosive batting at the top of the order. However, his recent performances, especially in Test cricket, does not resonate the statement as his poor run of form has left fans and pundits alike, questioning his form in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

The 37-year-old, who has dropped himself down the batting order, giving the opening spot to KL Rahul, has scored only 19 runs across the three innings in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. Moreover, the Indian skipper was seen grimming in pain after being hit on his knee during one of the practice sessions ahead of the Boxing Day Test, which is scheduled to start on December 26.

The incident is from Team India’s practice on Sunday, December 22, when the 37-year-old was left stunned by Padikkal’s delivery which saw the ball keeping low as it hit the batter on the back of the pad, creating a scenario of LBW.
