During the promotion of her upcoming movie Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Ananya Panday graced the JioCinema studio before India took on Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in the fifth and final T20I of the series. When the Bollywood actress was asked about sending a DM to a cricketer, she said the name of Rohit Sharma.

Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, starring Ananya Panday, Adarsh Gourav, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, is a coming-of-age drama movie directed by Arjun Varain Singh, while the story is written by the trio of the director, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti. It is set to release worldwide on the OTT platform Netflix on December 26, during the festive season.
On the pre-match show of JioCinema before India versus Australia's fifth T20I began, Ananya Panday was confronted with the question, “Which cricketer would you like to DM?” In response, she was quoted as saying, “I will DM Rohit Sharma. He is a really solid captain. Led the team well in the World Cup, I'll say him thank you.”

Apart from naming the cricketer, she would like to DM, Ananya Panday also appreciated the former India captain Virat Kohli for the way he interacts with his wife and fellow Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma on the field. She said, “Virat Kohli is the GOAT. He is so passionate about the game. I really like the way he interacts with Anushka during the match.”
