After releasing the most searched personalities of 2023, Google released a new video that revealed the top icons the world searched for most in the last 25 years. While football has been named the most searched sport in the last 25 years on Google, the Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has been crowned as the most searched athlete in the list. Apart from Ronaldo, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and NBA legend LeBron James also appeared in the list in different segments.
Google began the video by stating, "25 years ago the world started to search and the rest is history." After revealing the most searched first step, decade in history, Google named football as the most searched sport in the last 25 years.
Further, Google revealed Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently scored his 50th goal in 2023 in Al-Nassr's 5-2 win over bitter rivals Al Shabab at the Saudi King Cup, as the most searched athlete while Virat Kohli and LeBron James have been named the most searched cricketer and the MVP in the last 25 years. Google captioned, "From superstars to local heroes, here’s to the icons the world searched for most in the last 25 years."

The list further mentioned Harry Potter movie characters as the most searched cast, Indian Cinema as the most searched movie genre, and Spider-Man as the most searched superhero in the world in the last 25 years.
In the sporting world, Google also mentioned Jamaica runner Usain Bolt's 9.58 seconds world record in the 100m sprint as the most searched record, NFL legend Tom Brady as the most searched G.O.A.T, and acknowledged several sports figures around the world.
