As the tournament reached its crucial stage there might be big changes in the Playing XI of a few teams in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. These changes might come after players from the West Indies squad are set to leave the remainder of the tournament for their national commitments.
However, this will not affect all the teams but Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators are the three PSL franchises which will be affected by this development. Notably, the Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi will be without star all-rounder Rovman Powell, Multan Sultans will miss Akeal Hosein in their last group-stage matches. Quetta Gladiators’ Odean Smith will also miss the side’s last match against Multan Sultans due to national commitments.
It is to be noted that these players are part of the West Indies ODI squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. South Africa and West Indies are currently playing two-match Test series and will then lock horns in three-match ODI series followed by as many T20Is.
Talking about the fate of these three PSL franchises, while Multan Sultans sealed the Playoffs berth on March 10 on the back of a brilliant knock from Rilee Rossouw, Quetta Gladiators are placed fifth in the points table. Peshawar Zalmi stand above Quetta Gladiators at fourth place, fighting for the playoffs berth.
