In Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Playoffs first round between the Western Conference third-placed Minnesota Timberwolves and the sixth-placed Phoenix Suns on Saturday night at the Target Center, Anthony Edwards' Wolves beat the Suns by 25 points. The Wolves star guard was spotted trash-talking Suns forward Kevin Durant and NBA legend Dwayne Wade praised the 22-year-old on social media.
Anthony Edwards was selected for the USA Men's Basketball team for the Paris Olympics 2024 alongside Suns stars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker among others. During the Timberwolves' win against the Suns, Anthony Edwards registered a game-high 33 points on over 50% shooting from the field and three-point line with nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals. In the last minute of the third quarter when Minnesota were leading the Suns 86-70, Edwards walked backward while staring at Durant and mocking him. Ant trash-talked Durant and the two-time NBA champion responded with a smile on his face.

Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant's playful banter during Game 1 in the NBA Playoffs garnered attention from the fans and former players including Dwayne Wade.
