After the success of the inaugural edition of the South Africa’s T20 league, SA20, the South African cricket board has confirmed the dates for its second edition. The second edition, which will take place in 2024, is said to kick start from January 10 with the final to be played on February 10.

 

Cricket South Africa on Tuesday, August 15 confirmed the schedule of the second edition. In the tournament opener, defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape will take on Joburg Super Kings at the St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The month-long  tournament will conclude on February 10 with the venue for the final yet to be decided.

 

Notably, the 2024 edition of the competition will also see some change in the format as the top two teams at the end of league stage will play the Qualifier 1 while the teams finishing third and fourth will play the Eliminator. The winner of the first Qualifier will directly move to the final, while the loser will get another chance as they will face the winner of the Eliminator in second Qualifier.

 

Additionally, the cricket board also confirmed that the double headers will only take place on Sunday.
