Australia Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins picked the better batsman between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar during a rapid-fire round with teammate Usman Khawaja. As the second season of the docu-series, The Test, was released a few days back, the two Australian cricketers paired up for a round of rapid-fire questions. Both players asked each other a few questions which also included picking a better batter between Kohli and Tendulkar.

Khawaja asked Cummins to pick one batter and the Australia captain tried to dodge it at first as he asked Khawaja, “At what? cooking?”. However, Cummins did answer the question and also explained his pick. “I think I have played Sachin only once in a T20 years ago. So, I will say Virat,” said Cummins.

Khawaja was also asked a few questions about the Indian Test team. Cummins asked Khawaja to rate the top four Indian batters among Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman. “I would go, Tendulkar, one. Dravid, the wall, two. Three, Dada. Ganguly, unfortunately, this hurts for me to say for Laxman too, I love watching Laxman bat, but lefties first,” explained Khawaja.

The southpaw was also asked to pick two batters from the current Indian Test team whom he would like to represent for the Kangaroos. “Will take the best batsman Virat, so that you don’t have to bowl to him. Secondly, I am going to take Rishabh Pant just for his bant(er). He is a funny guy,” answered Khawaja.

Notably, Australia are all set to tour India in February-March for a four-match Test series, under the Border Gavaskar Trophy as well as three ODIs. The first Test starts on 9 February in Nagpur. Both teams have announced their respective Test squads and it is expected to be a thrilling series.

Earlier in the month, Cummins said he wants everything at his “disposal” for the “big” series in India next month. Besides frontline spinner Nathan Lyon, he singled out Ashton Agar and Travis Head as vital cogs to the team’s bowling plans.
