The 2011 Cricket World Cup winner, Sachin Tendulkar, unveiled the trailer of Muthiah Muralidharan’s biopic, which is titled “800,” at an event in Mumbai, on September 5, Tuesday. The 50-year-old, who is widely known as one of the best friends of his Sri Lankan counterpart, after years of epic battles between them on the field, was involved in one of the biggest moments of Muthiah Muralidharan’s life earlier today.

Notably, Muthiah Muralidaran shared the first look poster of his biopic “800,” in April this year, in collaboration with the SunRisers Hyderabad, the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, for whom he worked as a spin bowling coach. The title of the biopic is the single greatest achievement of his individual cricketing career, wherein he had picked up 800 wickets in Tests, the highest tally among all the bowlers in the last 150 years.

Apart from the 800 wickets in the longest format of the game, Muthiah Muralidaran also had 534 wickets in ODIs and 13 wickets in T20Is. He was a major part of Sri Lanka winning the Cricket World Cup in 1996, after defeating Australia in the final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Talking about the movie “800,” it has been written and directed by MS Sripathy, while the producers are Vivek Rangachari and the Movie Train Motion Pictures. Madhurr Mittal, who was heralded for his performance in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, will be playing the role of Muthiah Muralidaran in his biopic, which will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
