Saina Nehwal pulls out of All England Open 2023, mixed doubles pair also withdraw

PV Sindhu is the only Indian women in the singles competing at the All England Open 2023.

The All England Open Badminton Championships 2023 kick started in Birmingham on Tuesday (March 14). Just hours prior to the start of the tournament, veteran Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal pulled out of the tournament. The Super 1000 tournament will be played across the next six days with the finals scheduled for March 19.

 

Talking about Saina, the London Olympics bronze medallist was slated to play against China’s Han Yue in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday. However,  with the reason of her pulling out still unknown, she is now replaced by a promoted player from Singapore - Yeo Jia Min in the women’s singles main draw.

 

Ishaan Bhatnagar - Tanisha Crasto also withdraw from All England Open 2023

 

The only Indian mixed doubles pair of Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto also withdrew from the tournament at the end moment. They have been replaced by  pair of Zachariah Sumanti and Hediana Julimarbela in the main draw.
