Sanju Samson to be left out of India’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad: Reports

According to reports citing OnManorama, the management is unhappy with Sanju Samson’s decision to miss the Kerala team’s preparatory camp ahead of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. It is also reported that the wicketkeeper-batter had informed the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) about his unavailability for the camp but the management will opt to include those who were involved in the sessions. However, as per PTI, Rishabh Pant will be the preferred choice behind the wicket while KL Rahul will be in the squad as a specialist batter.

Notably, not only Sanju Samson, Sachin Baby was also unavialable for selection for Kerela’s Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign and hence Salman Nazir was named the captain of the side. Speaking of Kerala, they have won just two of their five matches and thus failed to qualify for the knockouts.
