Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 fixture against England has come under scrutiny as the security at their game in Kolkata can become an issue. Pakistan and England are set to lock horns on November 12 in Kolkata. The Kolkata Police has likely informed the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) that they may not be able to provide security during the game.

As per reports by Rev Sportz, Kolkata Police has informed the CAB that it may not be possible for them to deploy enough security for the World Cup game. The reason behind the same is that the game coincides with Diwali. It means that the game between both teams is likely to be rescheduled. The reports further suggest that after being informed of the situation, the CAB officials alerted the BCCI and ICC.
However, as the revised World Cup schedule is to be announced next week, it is to be seen whether the game gets rescheduled or not. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah told reporters last week that the tournament schedule will be revised after many committee member countries wrote to them to change two-three dates.

However, the CAB president Snehasish Ganguly told ANI that they haven’t received any official notification about rescheduling of the Pakistan-England game. Ganguly said, “I have not received any official intimation, I will not be able to make any comments unless I get one….”
