Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi grabbed headlines once again, this time, for all hilarious reasons. The fast bowler got married to former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha Afridi earlier this year. However, the couple hosted a grand reception and other wedding festivities in September 2023, which was nothing but a huge star-studded affair. However, the Pakistan bowler seemed to be extra excited as he congratulated himself on Facebook.
After the wedding festivities, Afridi took to social media to share his happiness with his followers as he posted pictures with his wife. However, what caught everyone’s eyes was that the cricketer had congratulated himself in the post.
Posting pictures on his social media channels, Afridi, 23, wrote, “Thank you everyone for the warm and lovely wishes. Here is to the beginning of love and laughter with the special one.”
Speaking of Afridi’s recent performance, the Pakistani youngster finished as second-highest wicket-taker at the Asia Cup 2023. Afridi clinched a total of 10 wickets from five matches averaging 23.50 and an economy of 5.73 in the tournament.
The Men in Green got knocked out of the continental tournament after a defeat against Sri Lanka, who later on went ahead to play against India in the final of the tournament. Pakistan will now travel to India for the forthcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which is set to commence on October 5 with a game between reigning champions England and runners-up New Zealand.
