Shakib Al Hasan, the former Bangladesh captain, has been cleared of suspect bowling action after the latest assessment of the same in a latest report published on Thursday, March 20. After failing the test twice over the last few months around his bowling action, there was a lot of criticism faced by one of Bangladesh’s greatest cricketers, but now, the 37-year-old will be breathing a massive sigh of relief to have gotten a clean chit.

Notably, due to the suspect bowling action, Shakib Al Hasan was reportedly not picked by the Bangladesh selectors in their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as a pure batter. The tournament was quite a forgettable one for Bangladesh as they were knocked out in the group stage after failing to win against India, New Zealand, and Pakistan, with the clash versus the latter being a washout.

The news is right and I am cleared to bowl again: Shakib Al Hasan

As per the latest report from Cricbuzz, after Shakib Al Hasan failed to take part in the Champions Trophy, which was expected to be his last tournament in Bangladesh colours, he underwent a third suspect bowling action assessment test in England, and finally, it was cleared. The aforementioned sports news website sought comment from Shakib Al Hasan about the matter, he happily confirmed to them the latest development.

He was quoted as saying, “The news is right (passing about the bowling test) and I am cleared to bowl again.” Moreover, the bowling action of Shakib Al Hasan was found to be illegal by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) following a County Championship match last summer, following which they had suspended him from bowling in a match in the country.
