The West Indies fast bowling sensation Shamar Joseph has signed with Peshawar Zalmi for the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a partial replacement for Gus Atkinson. The 24-year-old was announced as one of the several players included in the six PSL squads during the Replacement Draft, which took place over a conference call on Monday, January 29.

Shamar Joseph has been in the headlines in the last couple of weeks after an incredible debut Test series for West Indies against Australia down under. He was named the player of the series for picking 13 wickets in two Tests at an average of 17.30 while scoring 57 runs at an average of 28.50 down the order.
In the second Test of the series at the Gabba in Brisbane, Shamar Joseph bowled 12 overs in a single spell, picking up a seven-wicket haul to help bowl out Australia in the second innings for 207 runs. With his player-of-the-match performance, he ensured that West Indies picked up their first Test win, with a margin of eight runs, in Australia after 27 years.
After becoming the star performer for the West Indies cricket team in the longest format of the game, Shamar Joseph is set to join Peshawar Zalmi as a replacement player, to compete in the PSL for the first time. The next assignment for the Guyanese cricketer will be at the International League T20 (ILT20) in the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai Capitals.
Apart from Shamar Joseph’s inclusion as a partial replacement player, Peshawar Zalmi has also added Waqar Salamkheil for Lungi Ngidi, who was not available for the whole season of the PSL.
