The KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have received a massive blow after their 28-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Tuesday, April 2. Their IPL 2024 signing, right-arm pacer Shivam Mavi has been ruled out of the ongoing edition with an injury.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Lucknow-based franchise after a fiery battle on the auction table with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), was signed for INR 6.40 Crore. However, the Indian pacer did not feature in any match for LSG in IPL 2024, he will miss the upcoming matches due to an unknown injury. “You’ll come back stronger, Shivam. And we’re with you all the way,” the Lucknow Super Giants captioned the video post on their social media post.

“I will miss it a lot. I came here after an injury and thought I would play matches with my team and do well for them. But unfortunately, I will have to go because I have an injury. A cricketer has to be mentally strong for this. If you have an injury, how do you come back and what do you have to take care of,” he said in the video shared by his IPL franchise.
It is to be noted that the Indian pacer has been troubled by injuries since August 2023. He hasn’t featured in competitive cricket since then. Speaking of the LSG, the KL Rahul-led side are placed fourth in the IPL 2024 points table with two wins from three games. While they lost their opening fixture against Rajasthan Royals, they are currently on a two-match winning streak. They Lucknow-based franchise will next face Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, April 7.
